Starting group therapy can be a bit scary, especially if you're not sure what to expect. Here are some benefits I've noticed from the therapy groups I've led, but keep in mind that they might not apply to every group therapy session.

  1. Understand that you're not the only one experiencing these feelings. There's a sense of connection when you realize others share similar thoughts, emotions, and challenges.

  2. Learn from others. Everyone can help each other to navigate similar experiences - everyone is in it together!

  3. Let's lift each other up! When someone has a great week, we can all celebrate together. And if someone's having a tough time, we're here to help out. You can choose to share what's going on or keep it to yourself—either way, we've got your back!

  4. You will explore the psychology underlying your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. You will gain evidence-based tools and techniques to enhance your mental health and wellbeing, which you can apply both during sessions and throughout your life!

  5. It's a great way to start therapy! You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. This allows you to learn and work independently if you're not yet ready for one-on-one sessions with a therapist.

  6. Thinking about group therapy? Reach out to us to check out some great options just for women, covering topics like anxiety and low self-esteem.
